Under the general guidance of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for daily and monthly activities related to the general ledger (journal entries, reconciliations), accounts payable, financial reporting accuracy, and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role works closely with the accounting team within the shared services group and partners with various departments to support the organization’s financial objectives.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Perform accounts payable tasks including invoice entry, three‑way match, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation in a timely manner
  • Assist with expense report tracking, reconciliations, and SPI compliance
  • Assist with inventory management
  • Navigate ERP systems effectively and troubleshoot transaction‑related issues as needed
  • Maintain generally accepted accounting standards and procedures in accordance with Marmon Group policies and guidelines
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Working Conditions

  • Office environment with regular Monday–Friday schedule
  • Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods (e.g., month‑end close, audit preparation)
  • Some tasks may involve extended periods of sitting and computer use
