The Director, Enterprise Optimization and Productivity is a leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide operational excellence through strategic oversight of procurement governance, vendor management, cost efficiency, and technology enablement across teams in Finance. This role leads the Procurement and Vendor Relationship Management Centre of Excellence (COE), ensuring consistent practices, compliance, and value creation across IMCO. The Director partners with business units and senior stakeholders to align operational capabilities with IMCO’s strategic objectives and growth trajectory.

As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:

Governance & Operational Leadership

  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide procurement and vendor risk relationship (VRM) frameworks, including establishing governance standards, compliance protocols, and best practices.
  • Provide oversight of Tier I Key Relationship Manager (KRM) reviews to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Drive enterprise collaboration with Risk, IT, Cybersecurity, Legal, and Compliance to strengthen third-party governance.

Strategic Advisor & Business Partner

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, enabling strategic procurement and vendor decisions aligned with IMCO’s goals.
  • Champion proactive vendor relationship management to mitigate risk, ensure service continuity, and maximize value.
  • Lead strategic relationships with external partners (e.g., accounting/consulting firms) on behalf of SET, including competitive sourcing for audit, tax, consulting and advisory services.

Cost Optimization & Business Transformation

  • Drive enterprise-wide cost optimization by leveraging advanced analytics and emergent technology (i.e., AI, Workday, etc. to identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and deliver sustainable change and savings.
  • Promote a cost-conscious, data-driven culture while accelerating Finance’s adoption of emergent technologies to enhance efficiency, insights, and decision-making.
  • Lead Finance’s technology enablement through education, upskilling, and best practice sharing; develop a network of Champions, maintain an automation use case portfolio, representing Finance in governance forums to prioritize initiatives and demonstrate value.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in procurement, vendor management, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at the enterprise level.
  • Strong understanding of procurement compliance, contract law, and financial controls.
  • Experience with Finance technology enablement, automation, process reengineering and use case development.
  • Advanced analytical skills and proficiency in performance tracking tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across all levels of the organization.
  • University degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; MBA or relevant professional designations (e.g., SCMP, CPA, PMP, AI credentials) are assets.
