Team Overview
TransUnion is seeking a highly technical Lead Engineer, AI Platform & Innovation to lead the development, adoption, and scaling of AI-powered capabilities across the enterprise. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for driving innovation through the design and implementation of AI-enabled applications, developer tooling, platform services, and engineering frameworks that accelerate organizational adoption of artificial intelligence.Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Deep expertise in enterprise-scale software engineering, including the design, development, and operation of highly available, distributed, cloud-native applications and platforms.
Strong understanding of AI and Generative AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, agent-based architectures, and AI application development patterns.
Proven experience architecting and building reusable platform capabilities, APIs, frameworks, developer tools, and shared services that enable broad adoption across engineering organizations.
Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms and modern engineering practices, including AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, DevSecOps, and observability.
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI solutions into enterprise applications and business processes, balancing innovation, scalability, security, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Experience establishing technical architecture standards and engineering best practices, including secure software development, testing strategies, code quality, governance, and operational excellence.
Hands-on experience leading technical teams and large cross-functional initiatives, providing architectural guidance, mentoring engineers, and driving delivery across multiple teams and business domains.
Knowledge of data engineering, data platform integration, and AI governance, including data security, privacy, responsible AI principles, model evaluation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence engineering, product, architecture, security, and executive leaders while driving adoption of strategic technology initiatives across the enterprise.
