Department Overview

The Application Release Team manages CI/CD pipelines for HedgeServ applications.  The team works with Development and IT teams to implement rapid testing feedback loops as well as releasing the applications. The team works closely with Development and the Change Management teams to make sure all releases to production are done in a consistent way and are audit compliant.

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer focuses on building a Jenkins/CodeBuild based CI/CD pipeline for applications and infrastructure, where the testing feedback loop is as tight as possible,

and infrastructure is treated as immutable and disposable. In addition, this role focuses on creating push button self-service tools for all builds and deployments

in both private and public clouds. The DevOps Engineer will be working closely with Dev and Ops teams with the goal of ensuring that every environmental change

starts with a commit to Git. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping design and develop tools for a fully automated, cloud ready, highly resilient,

and highly observable environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help design CI/CD pipeline using Git, Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, and CodeArtifact

  • Help integrate infrastructure testing into the CI/CD process

  • Work with Dev/Ops teams to create AWS CodeBuild

  • Work with Dev/Ops teams to modify/move Jenkins Pipelines to CodeBuild

  • Help develop automation tools and scripts

  • Identify inefficiencies and help develop solutions

Experience:

  • Proficient with Linux systems (CentOS, RHEL)

  • Experience in managing servers in Virtual Environment (VMWare/AWS EC2)

  • Remote management via SSH

  • Install and configure software packages via RPM and source code

  • Some experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins/Travis CI/ Bamboo/ CodeBuild)

  • Some experience with Amazon Web Services  (e.g. ECRs, S3, CodeBuild)

  • Some working experience with containers Docker and Kubernetes

  • Works well with other teams in other areas – Dev/Ops/IT

  • Can troubleshoot and develop solutions to problems

  • Open to learn new technologies and welcomes ideas from others

  • Can be objective to find the best solution to a problem
