Portfolio Analyst Intern, SLGI Asset Management

Role Summary:

SLGI Asset Management is part of the Sun Life global group of companies. Now in our 15th year as an asset manager and with over $60B in AUM (Institutional & retail), including our broader Sun Life Global Investments businesses, we continue to focus on developing innovative solutions that help clients manage risk and achieve financial security. The Multi-assets Solutions (MAS) team is responsible for managing a broad range of investment solutions. 

The Portfolio Analyst intern on this team works with senior analysts, portfolio strategists and portfolio managers to research the competitive landscape, create investment insight content, and refine our tools for outcome-driven portfolio construction.

We are seeking a self-driven candidate with strong quantitative skills and keen detail-orientation. The intern should also possess the ability to think analytically, communicate clearly and work collaboratively. The ideal candidate has a passion for financial markets across the full spectrum of global asset classes, coupled with a keen interest in exploring various investment strategies.

Main Accountabilities:

The Portfolio Analyst intern's main accountabilities are: 

• Analyze the competitive landscape and updating detailed institutional industry peer profiles
• Create and maintain recommended list fund investment profiles
• Collaborate with the institutional portfolio strategist to create and update client communication and investor insight content.
• Analyze asset class performance drivers and metrics
• Support client service teams though timely reporting of portfolio performance, attribution, and positioning

Competencies:

• Outstanding analytical skills
• Strong interest in financial markets and investment strategies
• Proactive contributor with demonstrated accountability and leadership
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience performing research and analysis in support of an investment / asset allocation decision making process would be an asset
• Technical/programming skills such as experience with MS Excel/VBA
• Experience with Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, and/or Blackrock Aladdin would be an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
