Who we are looking for

VML is expanding its Retail Management Services (RMS) capability to support enterprise clients across Amazon, Walmart, and other leading retailers. Our Commerce practice helps brands win across marketplaces, retail media networks, and digital shelf environments. As retailers increasingly operate as both merchants and media platforms, our teams connect retail fundamentals, digital shelf performance, and retail media activation to drive measurable commercial outcomes.

We are seeking a Platform Specialist – Walmart (SupplierOne) to lead operational execution and system governance within the Walmart supplier ecosystem.

This role owns SupplierOne workflows and item governance processes, ensuring products are correctly published, compliant with Walmart requirements, and fully transactable across channels.

Walmart performance depends on clean retail fundamentals and system integrity. This role ensures item setup, content compliance, and operational stability are maintained before demand is amplified through retail media and commercial activation.

The Platform Specialist partners closely with the Walmart Connections Lead, RMS execution teams, and the Scintilla analytics specialist to ensure operational issues are identified, prioritized, and resolved quickly.

What you'll do

SupplierOne System Management

  • Own operational workflows within SupplierOne, including item governance and system updates.
  • Monitor item publish status and resolve system errors impacting product availability.
  • Ensure items meet Walmart content, compliance, and taxonomy standards.

Item Governance & Catalog Management

  • Manage updates to product attributes, content, and taxonomy classifications.
  • Oversee variation setup and correction to ensure proper catalog structure.
  • Resolve compliance and item governance issues that impact product visibility or availability.

Transactability & Channel Enablement

  • Diagnose and resolve issues impacting transactability across Walmart channels, including:
  • Online Pickup & Delivery (OPD)
  • Ship-to-Home (S2H)
  • Ensure products remain fully purchasable across Walmart digital channels.

Operational Issue Resolution

  • Manage Walmart case workflows and escalation processes.
  • Resolve publish errors, system conflicts, and governance issues impacting retail performance.
  • Escalate systemic platform blockers that require retailer engagement.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with the Scintilla analytics specialist to prioritize operational fixes.
  • Partner with RMS platform teams, content teams, and client stakeholders to execute required updates.
  • Support promotional uploads, assortment changes, and retail event readiness.

What you'll need

Experience

  • 5–7 years of experience in Walmart commerce operations, catalog management, or digital shelf management
  • Hands-on experience working within SupplierOne and Walmart item governance systems
  • Experience managing product setup, catalog corrections, and compliance workflows

Skills

  • Strong operational understanding of the Walmart supplier ecosystem
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve item setup, taxonomy, and publish issues
  • Strong attention to detail and system troubleshooting capability
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional execution teams

Preferred

  • Experience supporting enterprise CPG brands at Walmart
  • Familiarity with Walmart Connect retail media environments
  • Experience working in agency, commerce consultancy, or supplier-side commerce teams
  • Experience working directly with Walmart merchants, replenishment teams, or supplier analytics environments strongly preferred; prior Walmart or Bentonville supplier ecosystem experience is a plus
