Join our Settlement & Tax team as we develop and maintain new Settlement & Tax systems as part of our strategic Convergence project — a transformation initiative moving from mainframe to a cutting-edge Java platform.

At Euronext Securities, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues’ cross borders with a team of experienced developers, functional analysts, and QA specialists. Together, we’ll navigate a complex and dynamic financial domain that impacts clients across Europe.

About the Role

As a Java Software Developer, you'll support both the development and operational aspects of our Settlement & Tax applications. The position is based in Porto, and we practice a “3 days a week in the office”- policy. This is a unique opportunity to influence a high-impact system within a critical financial infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement scalable, event-driven architectures.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team members.
• Support unit testing and continuous integration pipelines.
• Use GIT for version control and team collaboration.
• Contribute to our observability setup (experience with OpenTelemetry is a plus).
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles (e.g. Clean Code, SOLID, basic Domain-Driven Design).
• Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs using Java/Kotlin.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems; experience with Kafka is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in GIT and test-driven development.
• Knowledge of or interest in observability practices (e.g. logs, metrics, tracing).
• Experience with Quarkus or similar frameworks is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset.
