What You’ll Do

Telstra Consumer - Marketing Chapter Area oversees Telstra's marketing operations, including brand management, advertising, and product marketing.

As far as telcos go, Belong is a blast to design for. The brand has a playful tone, the business champions great creative work and the in-house creative team needs a graphic designer who knows their craft.  

 

It’s a mixed bag of briefs over here. You’ll need to be a flexible designer who’s just as enthusiastic about designing for a multi-media ATL campaign, a simple social post, or a funny sign for the microwave. You’ve got bucketloads of print experience, you can whip up wonderful digital out-of-home designs and craft something fancy when it’s needed, but you’re also happy to handle the ho-hum roll-outs 

 

Maybe you’re an agency designer who’s sick of the five-to-nine grind. Maybe you’ve come from retail marketing and want to ease up on the pace but still do amazing work. Maybe you’re already working in-house and want to change in-houses. If any of this feels familiar, let’s chat.   

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Interpreting briefs and delivering effective creative designs that get noticed, connect with customers, and get the job done  

  • Working with copywriters to generate campaign concepts and roll out designs across various mediums. 

  • Designing within Belong’s brand guidelines, but looking for opportunities to nudge us forward.  

  • Playing nice with other creatives. We’re a tight-knit bunch who are gentle with constructive feedback and work together to make the work better. (Eye-rollers, prima donnas and pooh-poohers need not apply.) 

  • Collaborating with other stakeholders. You’ll mostly be working in the marketing team, but we also work with other departments at Belong as well as external agencies and third parties (printers, merch makers, etc). 

  • Working autonomously and managing your time. 

 

Must haves: 

  • Strong folio of design work  

  • 5+ years working as a professional graphic designer with plenty of print experience   

  • Adobe suite (obvs) - Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign 

  • Experience with Figma and Miro would be helpful (you’ll use them both from time to time) 

  • Idea generation skills. You generate a variety of concepts for every brief. You’re always looking for new angles and fresh ways to express an existing campaign thought.  

  • A customer-first mindset. You’ll approach briefs wearing our customers’ shoes and you’re curious about what makes people tick (and look, and buy) 

  • Clear, critical thinking skills. You cut through the noise and get to the heart of an issue. You’re a simplifier, not a complicator. 

  • Obsession with keeping up to date with creative work, design trends, and what’s making waves in the design world 

  • All the usuals ability to juggle priorities and manage tight timelines, godlike proofing skills.
