Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Industrial Engineer or Industrial Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Clearfield, UT. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Aero Structures organization.
Essential Functions:
Utilize data from business systems to analyze shop floor practices and processes for opportunities to develop daily work plans, minimize scrap, reduce cost, increase capacity, and optimize schedule.
Analyze shop floor data and develop metrics for daily performance management, i.e. daily earns, efficiency, WIP, cost and schedule
Provide support to the manufacturing floor by working with cross-functional teams to understand frontline problems and implement cost-saving, impactful solutions.
Develop and iterate on detail production build schedules by working closely with Production Operations
Work with frontline leadership to assess current state and implement cost-saving solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Industrial Engineer or an Industrial Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications for an Associate Industrial Engineer:
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing environment
Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
Be majoring in or has majored in Industrial Engineering
Ability to apply basic Industrial Engineering principles
Experience with Excel, including macros, data modeling, and pivot tables
Experience with database coding using SQL, Python, Power BI
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment
Active DoD clearance
Pay Range:
Associate Industrial Engineer $59,900 to $89,900
Industrial Engineer $72,100 to $108,100
