The Lead Software Engineer architects, designs, codes and tests complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and tabular or visual reporting outputs. The incumbent provides leadership, technical guidance, training and mentoring to others in areas of acquired expertise. The incumbent is responsible for the efficient application of currently relevant and appropriate emerging technology in the development of quality products within the constraints of time and budget.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

• Meet with internal and client leadership to determine precise requirements for reporting deliverables, including data definitions and underlying process specifications.

• Write complex SQL queries against Oracle, SQL Server, and Snowflake to determine operational and financials insights as well as supply logic for ongoing reports

• Create and maintain Power BI visualizations for said reports

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

• Completion of Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, etc.

• 5+ years of experience working with and writing queries for NoSQL data in Azure Table Storage, Azure CosmosDB, MongoDB, and Azure Application Insights (Kusto Query Language)

• 6+ years of advanced experience working with RDBMS platforms like SQL Server and Oracle, specifically, including…

• o Experience writing complex queries using subqueries, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and window functions

• o Ability to write parameterized queries and utilize variables

• o Understanding of JSON data structures and the ability to query them using standard JSON-related SQL functions

• o Demonstrated ability to optimize query performance through appropriate use of temporary structures and query design patterns

• o Ability to decipher and modify complex stored procedures

• 5 years of experience creating effective reports and dashboards using PowerBI. Ability to use DAX queries to refine reports and dashboard views.

• 5 years of experience with the comprehensive insight into concepts, tools and processes used for estimating, tracking, managing and reporting work

• 5 years’ experience documentation skills to translate requirements into specifications for program objects, functions and systems.

• 5 years’ experience estimating cost, effort and duration of product deliverables of high complexity

Pay Range:

$103,800.00 - $173,300.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
