Close and Control Blackline Centre of Excellence Lead

The role will be a part of the Close and Control (C&C) Global Process Owner (GPO) Blackline Center of Excellence (COE) team with a focus on leading the COE team to ensure day-to-day support, optimization of existing and implementation of new Blackline functionalities.

You will be responsible for the Blackline’s template design, deployment and solution lifecycle. You will assess and articulate business requirements, analyze design options, seek out and assess solution simplification opportunities where business case justification exists. You will drive the business towards common, standardized global solutions.

The role will be part of C&C GPO LT, cooperate closely with the Finance HUB’s C&C team, C&C GPO, GP&T, FRMC and other business and support functions.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop & run Blackline’s solution template Governance & integrity maintenance

  • Partner with other C&C GPO pillars and “Business” to initiate Blackline’s solution template change requests. Perform, jointly with GP&T teams, assessment to determine feasibility and contribute input to business benefit

  • Develop and present (or support the presentation of) proposed Blackline’s solution template change to the relevant governance bodies for review and approval

  • Ensure that global Blackline’s solution template documentation (i.e. GSOPs and BPSDs) is accurate and current

  • Develop and implement further Account Reconciliation features streamlining the existing BSR processes

  • Create and maintain Transaction Matching rules

  • Lead COE team to ensure continuous system support, trouble shooting and smooth resolution of system issues

  • Ensure people development, succession planning and objective setting

  • Own overall system health measures (performance, integrity, controls)

  • Build external network, including supplier & other Blackline’s customers, to monitor market trends, leverage best practices and benchmark solutions

  • Spread the knowledge and best practices across the HUBs and Blackline users

  • Lead/support business development projects to properly leverage Blackline’s modules

  • Lead/support Blackline modules’ deployments across organization

Why you?

Basic requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Finance Analysis/IT or other similar

  • Experience in Blackline (or equivalent) environment (System admin, Super User, Key User)

  • Experience in people management and development

  • Experience in R2R/Controlling space would be an asset

  • Fluent English (minimum C1)

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools (especially MS Excel)

  • Knowledge of SAP and supporting components

Preferred additional requirements:

  • Continuous improvement mindset, problem-solving

  • Project framework certification would be an asset (PMI, Prince, Agile)

  • Experience in root cause analysis

  • Experience in a SOX/audit environment

  • Knowledge of SAP ECC, S/4Hana and FC

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work flexibly within a matrix team

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders 

  • Knowledge of systems that allows checking the processes/creating reports/effectively extracting the data
