OVERVIEW:

Executes the procurement of National Account Vendor (NAV) purchasing program for the retail building including but not limited to ensuring Dick's Sporting Goods, Public Lands, Going Going Gone, and House of Sport has the most competitive package pricing, establishes and maintains excellent vendor relationships, generates purchase orders and reviews invoices, budget management, and interface and communication with others to ensure the final product is consistent and accurate to company standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construction Material Procurement

    • Executes the National Account Vendors (NAV) procurement for Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf  Galaxy new stores, remodels and special projects on schedule and within budgetary parameters. Generates purchase orders and invoice review.

  • Cost Containment

    • Monitor and evaluate program for competitive pricing by bidding each vendor and/or annual renegotiation . Investigate value engineering opportunities. Negotiates National Account discounts. Understands the fluctuating economic conditions and commodities costs affecting the NAV package pricing.

  • Budget Management

    • Establishes project pricing for approval. Forecast and maintain budgets

  • NAV Vendor Relations

    • Conduct annual meetings with NAV's to establish and maintain relationships to ensure vendors are providing competitive pricing and working in the company's best interest. Work through company/vendor issues. Encourage healthy competition.

  • Interface and Communication

    • Develops a relationship and communicates regularly with the NAV's, architects and other departments like construction, development, store planning, finance, etc. to resolve NAV issues and questions. Establish and maintain a support role relationship with construction department project managers, facilities managers and development managers

  • Maintain and track NAV database including pricing, specifications and details. Ensures vendor details and specifications are current and accurate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years of experience, with 5 years purchasing with a national retail chain
