About the Role:

We’re looking for a passionate Software Engineering Intern to join our team at People protection group in Proofpoint and work on real-world projects that impact our users. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, learn new technologies, and contribute to production-level code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of software features and tool development
• Participate in code reviews and team stand-ups
• Troubleshoot bugs and help improve performance
• Document technical work and learn new tools/languages

Requirements:

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong fundamentals with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, GoLang etc)
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn
• Team-oriented with good communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Git/GitHub experience
• Knowledge in AWS or Azure cloud systems
• Exposure to GenAI technologies

Candidate Profile:

You have the ability and interest in working full-time (a maximum of 38 hours/week) this summer and part-time (a maximum of 20 hours/week) for 9 months afterward, in correspondence with the company’s hybrid policy. You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree and are successfully maintaining an above average GPA. This summer internship is scheduled to start this summer and end in 2026.
