Job Description Summary

The Strategic Facilities Leader will use her/his expertise to develop a long-term planning for facility infrastructure and space utilization needs to support business growth strategies of JV sites in Italy and Norway. She/he will ensure continual alignment with organizational objectives while focusing on EHS, capacity, sustainability, efficiency and workplace environment.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work with Shop Facilities Leader and Operations teams to identify facilities and maintenance projects to continuously improve operational performance and maximize asset value. 

  • Lay out the annual operating plan of capital projects, manage their budgets, drive execution and cost control.

  • Partner with Sourcing to identify new service providers, manage facility and maintenance service agreements and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Partner with Region EHS Leader and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance with local regulations, integrate sustainability and mobility management initiatives into long-term planning, assess and enhance the workplace environment while balancing financial targets.

  • Communicate effectively with senior management, executives, local authorities and other stakeholders across the business.  

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with significant experience in manufacturing operations/facilities/maintenance)

  • Experienced to work in with both direct reports and contractors

  • Ability to set a strategic vision and identify opportunities for optimization.

  • Ability to coordinate and execute projects

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills

  • Clear thinking attitude to match and anticipate internal customer needs

  • EU work permit

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or building engineering is preferred

  • Experience in facility & maintenance activities of complex plant

  • Wide range technical skills (knowledge of civil works, machining and equipment)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (Italian and English)

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
