Your role and responsibilities:
As part of ABB’s Group Government Relations & Public Affairs (GRPA) team, you will support the development and execution of ABB’s global GRPA strategy. You will contribute to high-level advocacy with policymakers, advance strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, and support senior leadership visibility on key public policy platforms. The role reports to the Director of Policy and Partnerships and is based in Zurich.

Stakeholder engagement, partnerships and advocacy: Support engagement on priority policy topics with governments, international organizations, trade associations, and industry platforms. Contribute to stakeholder mapping, prepare briefings and messaging, organize meetings and events, and manage follow-up actions. Support the strategic direction and day-to-day management of public affairs partnerships, and represent ABB’s policy positions in external fora and internal cross-functional teams.
Senior leadership support: Contribute to delivery of high-quality materials for leadership engagements, including briefings, talking points, scripts, and presentations, in close collaboration with relevant teams.
Messaging and narratives: Contribute to the development of messaging aligned with ABB’s policy priorities, ensuring consistency with and support of business strategy.
Policy monitoring and strategic insights: Monitor policy trends, industry developments, and geopolitical changes to inform engagement strategies. Identify risks and opportunities (e.g., energy transition, industrial policy, digitalization, AI) and translate complex developments into clear, actionable insights and internal briefings.
GRPA operations and collaboration: Support annual strategic planning, enhance workflows and knowledge management, and drive the adoption of digital and AI tools to improve team performance. Contribute to global GRPA communities of practice and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Qualifications for the role
Master’s degree (completed or near completed) in International Affairs, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
Between 2 and 5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, consulting, public sector, or international organizations, with a keen interest in geopolitics, public policy and business–government relations.
Understanding of key policy areas relevant to ABB, such as energy, digitalization, and industrial policy, is an advantage.
Well-developed research and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex topics into clear, concise materials for senior audiences.
Solid organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
High level of ownership, with a curious, solution-oriented, and engaged approach, interest in digital
Solid written and presentation skills in English are essential.
