About The Role:

We are looking for an innovative Senior Global People Operations Specialist to be a key player in our evolving People team. In this high-impact role, you will oversee the various stages of the employment and independent contractor lifecycles while acting as a true owner of Andela’s operational programs. You will join forces with the People Operations team, collaborating closely to manage critical functions such as onboarding, offboarding, global mobility, immigration, and internal audits, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and deliver maximum value to the organization.

Working in partnership with People Business Partners and Talent Acquisition, you will effectively "thread the needle" across internal people functions and external stakeholders, fostering seamless communication and collaboration. Your expertise will drive operational excellence as you navigate our global Workday and local payroll/benefit systems, all while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the proper documentation and retention of personnel records.

As you maintain a proactive approach to reviewing and enhancing our procedures and help shape policy development, you will significantly contribute to a positive employee experience. This is an exceptional opportunity for a results-oriented professional with strong HR generalist experience who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to make a lasting impact on our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the payroll and benefits team to ensure seamless administration of the employee population during the hiring, termination, and ongoing support processes.
  • Assist in managing employee enrollment and benefits-related inquiries while ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Manage the onboarding process to provide a smooth and welcoming experience for new hires.
  • Oversee offboarding activities, including conducting exit interviews, processing final payroll, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws.

Policy Development & Documentation:

  • Collaborate in the creation, implementation, and communication of policies that support a global, remote-first workforce.
  • Maintain and update policies to ensure compliance with local regulations and organizational standards.

HR Operations & Process Improvement:

  • Streamline and document HR processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related queries through the People Helpdesk.

Workday Administration & Data Reporting:

  • Support HRIS administration using Workday, ensuring accurate data entry and ongoing system maintenance.
  • Generate and analyze reports on various HR metrics, providing insights to inform decision-making.

Compliance & Legal:

  • Ensure compliance with global labor laws and internal policies.
  • Stay updated on HR compliance issues and recommend necessary changes to policies or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a People Operations or HR Generalist role.
  • Strong proficiency with Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Experience in developing and documenting HR policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with employees at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of global HR compliance and local labor laws.
  • Experience in a global or multinational company.
