Position Overview
The Sr Commercial Excellence Specialist will be primarily responsible for driving sales force effectiveness across the Japan for current and future tests. The main function of this role will be to enhance and elevate our sales capabilities and the performance of the commercial teams through fostering a culture of sales force effectiveness across the organization. The Sr Commercial Excellence Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Sales Training, Marketing and Sales team to deliver and implement the Commercial Excellence plan. The role reports to the Manager, Commercial Excellence, Japan.
This role is based in Tokyo office.
Essential Duties
Include, but are not limited to, the following:
Implementation of the Sales Force Effectiveness Plan focusing on key priorities.
Drive implementation of SFE plans and ensure prioritization of key initiatives.
Lead projects to improve sales productivity and effectiveness, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams.
Manage CRM systems (Veeva, SFDC) and ensure optimal utilization for performance tracking.
Develop and monitor KPIs, incentive plans, and performance dashboards using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
Provide strategic insights through data analysis and forecasting, including P&L support for test volume, revenue, and OPEX.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and best practices within the commercial organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align market research strategies and business objectives.
Ensure compliance with Japanese regulations and company policies in all commercial excellence activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, statistics, finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in commercial roles (sales, marketing, or commercial excellence).
Fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken).
Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data sets.
Proven experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
Advanced proficiency in CRM platforms (Veeva, SFDC) and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
Excellent communication skills in English and Japanese; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Knowledge of Japanese market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
Ability to influence without direct authority and drive strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
Sales role and/or marketing role experience in the relevant industries.
Employment Term: This role includes a 3-month probationary period during which employment conditions remain unchanged. Employment is on an indefinite-term contract, and a one-month notice period is required for voluntary resignation, in accordance with company policy. Employees may be required to work overtime based on business needs, including occasional holiday and weekend work, with compensation provided per company policy and local labor regulation.
Salary Range:
¥8,700,000 - ¥14,300,000The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. Additionally, this role includes either 30 hours of overtime per month or 10 hours of midnight work per month, depending on the position. This position is also eligible for a bonus.
