Your Mission 

  

We’re looking for a talented and motivated engineer to investigate and reverse engineer cheating tools for Call of Duty, to help secure the game client and protect our players. 

As a Senior Engineer supporting our anti-cheat efforts, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development, configuration, scripting, deployment and maintenance of cheating detections and mitigations. For this role, you should be able to quickly familiarize yourself with existing codebases and be able to write elegant, high performing, extensible code that works well within a collaborative low-level high-risk coding environment. 

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:     

  • Investigate and reverse engineer cheating tools for Call of Duty to help secure the game client and its interactions with the game servers 
  • Apply experience with x64 assembly language, C/C++, Python, and low-level programming concepts to maintain anti-cheat tools and services in the game engine 
  • Build detections and mitigations to protect players against cheating 
  • Maintain and extend documentation on security best practices 
  • Collaborate with other engineers from across the business to educate and improve game security 
  • Stay up to date with the latest security trends and threats in the industry 

Player Profile  

Experience  

  • Production-level C/C++ experience 
  • Kernel-level experience with Windows and the ways exploits take advantage of the OS 
  • Experience with disassemblers, debuggers, and other reverse engineering tools 
  • Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools for multiple systems and file formats 

Knowledge & Skills  

  • BA/BS in Computer Science and 5+ years relevant work experience within security/anti-cheat 

Key Attributes  

  • An autonomous, problem-solving, and open-minded attitude 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other engineers, designers and producers
  • Ideal candidate will have experience working with back-end game services

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $92,920.00 - $171,814.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
