Job Summary:
The Clinical Education Assistant WMG is a Certified Medical Assistant who supports the education of WMG clinical team members by assisting in education and competency management, providing administrative and instructional support for all WMG clinical education programs, serving as a representative for Medical Assistants within the ambulatory nursing leadership structure, and working with external education partners to support nursing and medical assisting students.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Administrative Duties
Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, course completion, and competency evaluations.
Maintains course evaluation data for course and program assessment and improvement.
Assists with clinical placement for nursing and medical assisting students.
Prepares and generates reports to support student and department needs.
Purchases supplies and manages supply stock for all WMG education programs.
Manages room bookings and other scheduling needs for all WMG education programs.
Manages time and attendance for department employees.
Educational Support
Assists in the setup and preparation of clinical education activities, including coordinating student schedules and ensuring the necessary equipment and materials are available.
Provides hands-on support and supervision during education sessions.
Assists in monitoring and evaluating student performance during clinical training.
Serves as a liaison between students and clinical instructors, offering guidance and support as needed.
Education Development and Improvement
Contributes to the ongoing improvement of the clinical education program through feedback and active participation in team meetings.
Collaborates with instructors and clinical staff to ensure alignment between clinical education and real-world ambulatory care practices.
Participates in the development and updating of clinical training materials, including lesson plans and instructional resources.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma General or GED General or Other / Certificate Medical Assisting


Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

  • BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor

  • CMA - Cert Medical Assistant or RMA - Registered Medical Assistant or CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant or MEDCA - Certified Clinical & Administrative Medical Assistant


Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 3 years working as a Certified Medical Assistant in a physician practice setting. Required and
Minimum 1 year working in an educator or education support role. Preferred


Required Minimum Skills:

Strong communication skills including verbal, written and presentation style. High
Works well with others in a collaborative, team-focused, patient centered way. High
Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail, especially in data management and record-keeping. High
Proficiency with data management, learning management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems. High
Strong computer skills and Microsoft office products. High
