Role Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager (Automotive) is responsible for leading a regional sales team while driving commercial success across selected strategic Tier 1 automotive customers. The role combines people leadership, direct account responsibility, and regional strategy execution to ensure strong customer engagement, disciplined execution, and sustainable business growth.

This is a people manager role with direct responsibility for a team of approximately five employees, while also retaining ownership of one major strategic account. The role requires strong day-one ownership of team performance, customer direction, regional priorities, and continuous improvement in ways of working.

Scope & Accountability

  • Lead and develop a regional automotive sales team with direct people-management responsibility for approximately five employees
  • Own and drive the regional sales strategy in alignment with business priorities
  • Lead one major strategic account directly, including overall commercial direction and account development
  • Provide clear structure, prioritization, and accountability across the team’s customer responsibilities
  • Drive execution discipline, escalation ownership, and cross-functional alignment across the assigned customer landscape
  • Promote modern, efficient ways of working, including the practical use of AI to improve productivity, speed, and quality across the team

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a regional sales team with clear accountability for performance, development, and collaboration
  • Define and execute the regional sales strategy for the assigned customer scope
  • Own and lead the overall Tier1 account setup as part of the role’s direct commercial responsibility
  • Guide team members across additional Tier 1 customer responsibilities and ensure strong coordination across the setup
  • Drive customer engagement, account development, and commercial follow-through across key Tier 1 automotive customers
  • Manage critical customer topics, negotiations, and escalations with strong ownership and pace
  • Work closely with Sales, FAEs, Business Units, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to support customer success
  • Contribute to account planning, regional prioritization, resource alignment, and execution tracking
  • Build team capability and strengthen people-management depth within the sales organization
  • Encourage the effective use of AI and digital tools to improve team efficiency, responsiveness, and execution quality
  • Help the team adopt new ways of working by translating AI-related opportunities into practical, business-relevant use cases

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in automotive sales, strategic account management, or regional commercial leadership
  • People-management experience or clear readiness to step into a formal people-leadership role
  • Strong customer-facing skills and ability to build trusted relationships with Tier 1 automotive customers
  • Ability to balance team leadership with direct ownership of a major customer account
  • Structured, execution-driven working style with strong follow-through
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Openness to using AI and digital tools to improve individual and team effectiveness
  • Ability to support team adoption of new tools and ways of working
  • Fluent in English and German
