EquipmentShare is Hiring a Director of Service

EquipmentShare is searching for a Director of Service to support our team as the department continues to grow.  This position can sit remote in the US.

The Director of Service will be the bridge between Operations and the Service Department, ensuring we use the best practices in the market. The Director will be responsible for a team that will manage the parts operations, the refurbishment facility, and will be responsible to develop the foundations for services to follow the growth speed of EquipmentShare. Hands-on developing tools, processes, and projects that will enable the company to expand without disruptions on organization and structure. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Will Manage initially a team of around 20 people

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, measure and continue improvement of all service and maintenance performance metrics (KPIs)
  • Develop and apply policies to maximize productivity and profitability 
  • Motivate, coach and train service teams to exceed time & quality standards and comply with maintenance processes, enabling branch service personnel to build strong relationships with customers through the delivery of high quality and timely customer service
  • Create business plans to present to the top leadership with a clear return of investment, resources needs and impact in the business.
  • Mentor and guide Service personnel, ensuring safety policies and procedures are up to date and in line with state and federal standards
  • Supervise the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of equipment at the corporate level.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, procurement department and Post Delivery, in regards to service performance and actions plans to improve productivity.
  • Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
  • Provides guidance to the project managers including all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to project management and administration, including reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial impact, execution of project plans, and project performance.  
  • Create a pipeline of projects with clear priorities and control all new initiatives within the Service Department, and share priorities with developers and other stakeholders
  • Oversees the selection and training of qualified program staff, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, providing effective supervision, and managing performance to ensure efficient operations.  
  • Evaluate performance and promotability of team members. Identify and provide necessary skills training and regular coaching
  • Ensures the project produces the specified results in the annual workplan(s) to the required standard of quality and within the timeline and budget parameters. 
  • Oversees budget pipeline development and budget monitoring.  Conducts monthly reviews to ensure accountability of all project activities as well as the accurate and timely reporting of financial deliverables and obligations.Lead, plan, measure and continue improvement of all service development (KPIs)
  • Work collaboratively with multiple EquipmentShare teams including, but not limited to:
    • Regional and Corporate Operations, Sales, and Service
    • Corporate based teams (BA,AP, Fleet, T3, Link, Parts, Warranty, and ES branch locations.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree essential, Engineering degree strongly considered
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in equipment maintenance 
  • Minimum 10 years equipment rental experience -  dealer experience is a plus
  • Prior people Manager Experience
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of service, parts, and warranty
  • Project manager certification is a plus
