The Red Hat Platforms and Analytics team is looking for a Manager of Platform Programs to lead our Platform Programs team. In this role, you will lead a team of program managers responsible for the foundational platforms that power our organization. Your scope will include API Services, Search and Retrieval, Platform Operations, Application Development and Governance, and Content/Marketing Platforms. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring these platforms are managed with operational excellence, enabling our engineering and strategy teams to deliver seamless, intelligent experiences at scale.

At Red Hat, our commitment to open source innovation extends beyond our products - it’s embedded in how we work and grow. Red Hatters embrace change – especially in our fast-moving technological landscape – and have a strong growth mindset. That's why we encourage our teams to proactively, thoughtfully, and ethically use AI to simplify their workflows, cut complexity, and boost efficiency. This empowers our associates to focus on higher-impact work, creating smart, more innovative solutions that solve our customers' most pressing challenges.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop people: Manage a high-performing team of technical program managers, providing coaching, mentorship, and clear career development paths

  • Drive program strategy: Oversee the execution of programs across the platform portfolio, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivery timelines

  • Partner with stakeholders: Build strong relationships with Engineering, Strategy, and Delivery teams to understand platform needs and remove blockers to innovation

  • Operationalize governance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks for application development and platform operations to ensure consistency and compliance

  • Continuous improvement: Evaluate existing program management processes and implement improvements to increase team velocity and delivery quality

  • Communicate impact: Provide visibility into program health, risks, and milestones to leadership and cross-functional partners

What you will bring

  • Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience managing agile technical program teams creating measurable impact against outcomes

  • Program management expertise: Deep understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and experience managing complex, cross-functional technical programs

  • Strategic thinking: Ability to translate high-level organizational strategy into actionable program roadmaps

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating ambiguity and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

The following is considered a plus

  • Technical literacy: General experience managing technical program functions (e.g., API services, cloud operations, or app dev platforms) is essential; specific technical proficiencies are a plus.
