Overview

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and managing the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as a liaison between program management, project team, and program leadership. 

  • Managing status of projects, budgets, and schedules.

  • Preparing status reports and maintaining detailed project logs.

  • Assessing project issues and developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Developing mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program managers and customers.

  • Communicating status of projects to leadership, identifying, and communicating risks and work issues to meet expected results and schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of Project Management experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).

  • Risk/issue/opportunities (RIO) experience.

  • Experience working with various material vendors, including those for electrical components and machined mechanical parts.

  • Demonstrated ability to use databases efficiently to gather data and analyze reports.

  • Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator.

  • Able to operate in a fluid and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Project.

  • Familiarity with optical systems (lasers, laser components) is a plus, but not required.

  • Experience in a commercial manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in a design for production environment.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired but not required.

Salary Range: $82,900.00 - $124,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
