Summary: As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data solutions for data generation, collection, and processing. Your typical day will involve creating data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and implementing ETL processes to migrate and deploy data across systems. You will play a crucial role in the organization's data engineering efforts, contributing to the overall success of data-driven initiatives. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be a SME with deep knowledge and experience. - Should have Influencing and Advisory skills. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams. - Design and develop data solutions for data generation, collection, and processing. - Create and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient data flow. - Implement ETL (extract, transform, and load) processes to migrate and deploy data across systems. - Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data engineering process. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise. - Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability. - Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and incidents. - Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering. - Contribute to the development and improvement of data engineering best practices. - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Data Engineering, Mainframe Modernization, AWS Glue, PySpark. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with Mainframe Modernization, AWS Glue, PySpark. - Strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices. - Experience with data modeling and database design. - Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages such as Python or Scala. - Hands-on experience with ETL tools and frameworks. - Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. - Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop and Spark. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Data Engineering. - This position is based at our Chennai office. - A 15 years full-time education is required.
