Supervisor, Quality Engineering

As part of the Engineering team you will supervise staff consisting of Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.  You will design, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. You will be responsible for the planning, implementation and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards and customer requirements and also design or improve methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and improvement strategies of existing manufacturing processes. production equipment and finished products.

Your Challenge:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the quality engineering team. Coach and mentor team members, lead professional development discussions, drive employee engagement.

  • Ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant quality standards through document reviews, Gemba walks, and influencing other functions to embrace a quality culture and problem solving mindset.

  • Evaluation of out-of-specification conditions and providing guidance for the disposition of non-conforming product and raw materials.

  • Working with cross functional teams to set the requirements to support product and process modifications; ensuring that Change Control requirements are met based on internal company procedures and applicable industry standards and regulations.

  • Advise multi-functional managers on high-level initiatives for Quality Engineering, employing industry best practices to ensure optimal results

  • Lead and participate in the creation of risk assessments (product and process- FMEA).

  • Participate in product validation and equipment qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ) by establishing acceptance criteria, statistical sampling plans, data analysis, and ensuring that manufacturing processes are validated according to Curtiss Wright SOP’s and industry best practices

  • Own the manufacturing MRB Process through sustaining and improvement activities. Use data generated from MRB to drive improvements to the manufacturing and quality system process.

  • Facilitate the resolution of complex technical, quality and operational problems.

Your Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Quality

  • LEAN/Six Sigma green belt certification

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience directly leading and managing a team

  • Ability to work independently and within tight deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate at all levels and functions of the organization,

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct quality investigations including root cause analysis and determining corrective / preventative actions,

  • Pragmatic data driven risk-based decision maker with strong problem-solving ability.

  • Experience with relevant data analysis software (i.e., Minitab, Microsoft Excel), sampling plans, and statistical techniques.
