In this role, you will help develop future models and tools to drive better decisions and accelerated growth. 

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

As a Data Engineer, your day-to-day duties will encompass the following areas: 

  • Operational Excellence: Provide essential operational support, including system troubleshooting and implementing technical fixes. 
  • Data Quality Assurance: Ensure absolute data integrity and data quality across environments. 
  • Process Optimization: Continuously improve internal processes through automation, pipeline optimization, and infrastructure re-design. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support and collaborate closely with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Data Impact: Leverage data visualization tools and techniques to maximize the business impact and intrinsic value of data. 
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Manage technical communication, alignment, and relationships with internal business units, product managers, and engineering teams to ensure data deliverables align with organizational goals. 
  • Governance & Compliance: Contribute to improving data governance policies and maintaining data compliance standards. 
  • Continuous Learning: Keep continuously current with the latest technical and industry developments. 

WHO YOU ARE:

We are looking for someone who meets the following profile: 

Education & Experience

  • Education: BS in IT, Mathematics, Science, or an Engineering discipline. 
  • Experience: Up to 4+ years of relevant data engineering experience beyond your first degree. 

Core Technical Skills

  • Data Pipelines: Familiarity with data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes from a wide variety of data sources. 
  • Databases: Hands-on experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. 
  • Workflow Management: Proven experience with pipeline and workflow management tools. 
  • Streaming & Messaging: Experience with various messaging protocols and stream processing frameworks. 
  • Programming: Strong experience with object-oriented or object-functional scripting languages. 
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools , alongside strong proficiency with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its suite of tools/services. 
  • Big Data & Distributed Systems: Proficient understanding of distributed computing principles with the ability to select and integrate big data tools and frameworks. 
  • Engineering Best Practices: Practical experience with code versioning, structured code reviews, and comprehensive documentation practices. 
  • Productivity Tools: Good working knowledge of collaboration tools such as G Suite, Git, Jira, and Confluence.
