Position Summary:   The Quality Technician is responsible for independently performing advanced inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure strict compliance with quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves interpreting complex blueprints and engineering drawings, utilizing advanced measuring equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), and contributing to root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and lead others in quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environment.  This position pays $30.00 -$37.00 an hour DOE. 1st Shift: Monday - Friday

Primary Duties:

  • Perform detailed dimensional and mechanical inspections of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring devices. 
  • Interpret and apply complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T standards to verify product conformity. Assist in developing and implementing process controls,
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming material and document inspection results accurately. Conduct routine audits of products and processes to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001). 
  • Identify and segregate defective parts for review. 
  • Collect, record, and analyze quality-related data to support quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Prepare and analyze inspection reports and communicate findings effectively to supervisors and cross-functional teams. Support documentation control by maintaining accurate inspection records and quality documents. Support quality improvement projects by providing data-driven insights and technical expertise

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proficient in Calipso programming language including CMM, optical comparators, hardness testing, height gauges, calipers, micrometers and other precision instruments.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD & T specifications.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours while handling the inspection of tools and product components with precision
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Perform repetitive motions such as bending, standing, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping and grasping with hands.
  • Occasional exposure to temperature extremes, noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotation mechanical parts.
