Job Responsibilities

 Provides 24x7 Operations, Deployment and Incident Support on a rotational basis with other team members.

 Manages the incident and problem resolution process:

  • Analyzes and classifies incident and issue tickets.   Ensures issue log contains appropriate and complete information.

 Plans and executes configuration management activities related to code promotionand client specific requests:

  • Contributes to the development and update of the configuration management plan related to code promotion as directed.
  • Develops, maintains and uses production monitoring tools.
  • Follows an established, documented process for code migration and reports exceptions.
  • Partners with software vendors to configure packaged software in the supported environments.

 Supports application, hardware, and software health and resiliency:

  • Supports root-cause analysis on intermediate to moderately complexincidents to provide future application, hardware and/or software resiliency.

 Proactively monitors and supports production environment:

  • Coordinates with others to develop and maintain the production environment for broader and more complex applications/infrastructure.  
  • Checks application/infrastructure health logs, statistics, job history, and script results to determine need for action.  Follows procedures methodically for ensuring uniform monitoring.  
  • Analyzes hardware and system software needs for the production system.  Identifies improvement opportunities.

 Provides on-call support and escalates and coordinates resolution with other groups:

  • Responds to calls, determines severity, and takes action within the specified service level for rapid response support.  
  • May participate on incident troubleshooting calls with customers.
  • Resolves incident/problem or escalates as needed.
  • Documents incident resolution and posts to appropriate logs for future reference.  

 Creates operational support tools for monitoring and reporting application/infrastructure health:

  • Designs operational tools to support application/infrastructure health monitoring and reporting needs.  Independently creates operational tools.

 Loads and maintains test data in cooperation with Quality Engineers:

  • Gathers requirements for test data for multiple business functions or applications.  
  • Develops test data for the application area or specific test as directed.  

 Builds, cultivates, and maintains long term relationships across all applicable stakeholder teams.

  • Manages the expectations of customers.  Assists in maintaining contact with software vendors and other groups external to the organization.    

 Supports process improvements that contribute to Operational Excellence:

  • Identifies opportunities to improve internal team processes or supported business's processes, products, or services

 Mentors and coaches peers and colleagues: 

  • Provides informal training to all levels on the team.  Proactively identifies areas for improvement in team members and provides positive feedback on suggestions for improving processes.  

Job Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional work experience
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Dev Ops life cycle such as Linux System Administration, Build and Release Management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Configuration Management, and Containerization
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform & IaC scripting
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting fundamentals (Bash, PowerShell, Visual script)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities
  • A desire to write tools and applications to automate work rather than do everything by hand.
  • Passionate about Continuous Build, Integration, Test, and Delivery systems
  • Knowledge of implementation of few of the following: Networking, DevOps, Security, Compute, Storage, Containers
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with cloud solutions, specifically GCP and Azure
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
  • Understanding of Agile, SCRUM, and Continuous Delivery
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and rapidly changing priorities
