LOGISTICS MANAGER

What can you expect?

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and control all materials and logistics activities supporting high‑volume automotive sewing operations. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, inventory integrity, regulatory compliance, strong escalation compliance, and cost‑effective material flow to meet customer delivery and quality requirements.

This role operates in a complex manufacturing environment with high product mix, strict customer standards, and strong operational discipline.

As the local team, we have full integration to the regional SAF Adient structure with most support functions leadership based in South Africa.

Objective of the Function

Plans, directs, monitors materials planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities so that the organization has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs for current and future operations.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Lead and manage all Materials and Logistics functions, including inventory control, material quality, inbound and outbound logistics, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with BOS, SOX, ISO/IATF 16949, and all applicable customer specific requirements.
  • Partner closely with Production leadership to develop and maintain material plans aligned with sewing capacity, production schedules, and customer demand.
  • Develop and maintain material forecasts and adjust plans in response to customer releases and volume changes.
  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through effective transaction control, cycle counting, and variance management.
  • Define and manage plant MRP parameters to meet customer expectations at optimal total cost while protecting production continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, customs, and trade requirements, including logistics security and control standards where applicable.
  • Identify, analyze, and drive elimination of waste across materials and logistics processes, with specific focus on inventory shrinkage and non-value-adding activities.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve standard materials and logistics procedures supporting controlled and auditable material flow.
  • Actively support Health, Safety, and Environmental objectives through compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Minimum: Diploma in Logistics Management, Supply Chain or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in logistics, materials management, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
  • Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control, and production planning principles.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, customer driven manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting high volume production operations.
