Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Technical Services Project Management or Principal Technical Services Project Management to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be supporting our Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team in Melbourne, FL. This position has the option for a hybrid telecommuting schedule with the ability to support on site in Melbourne, FL as the business requires. 

The project manager will provide organizational and technical leadership and direction across the Digital Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) thrust across multiple sites. This position will also involve managing project development from initial award through delivery, providing mentorship to team members, and managing project goals, objectives, schedules, and cost while adhering to company policy. 

As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. This position supports AMT Digital Communications and the development, production, integration, and deployment of a Northrop Grumman secure communications solution. This role requires providing organization and project management across all digital communications projects.  Key skills to be successful in this role include great attention to detail, the ability to stay organized, task prioritization, and being able to work with minimal detail or unclear requirements. This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, multiple business functions, engineering disciplines, and executive management. In addition, the role will require the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment. Budgeting and Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and execute assigned work and manage project efforts. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications Technical Services Project Management (Level 2): 

  • Bachelors degree and 1 year of experience in engineering or project management in an aerospace, defense industry, manufacturing or production/operations environment; OR Master of science degree with 0 or more years' experience
  • Project/Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking). 
  • Experience with Atlassian tool kit (including Jira and Confluence), Microsoft Project, and/ or other task tracking software. 
  • Ability to travel at least 10% Domestically.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level security clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business. 

Basic Qualifications Principal Technical Services Project Management (Level 3): 

  • Bachelors degree and 4 years of experience in engineering or project management in an aerospace, defense industry, manufacturing or production/operations environment; OR Masters degree and 3 years of experience in engineering or project management in an aerospace, defense industry, manufacturing or production/operations environment.
  • Project/Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking). 
  • Experience with Atlassian tool kit (including Jira and Confluence), Microsoft Project, and/ or other task tracking software. 
  • Ability to travel at least 10% Domestically.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret level security clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Current Special Program Access 
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) degree 
  • Experience using ERP systems. 
  • Experience in Earned Value Management, Financial Tracking, Staffing and Financial Planning. 
  • Experience with SAP 
  • Experience in Cost Account Management 
  • Experience leading scrums or project status meetings  
  • Experience working with multiple IPTs, other stakeholders, and various DoD customers  
  • PMI PMP Certification or prior project management training 
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio) 
  • Experience managing hardware procurement and production activity  
  • Proposal experience, and experience in other early phases of program lifecycle  
  • Experience with Digital Transformation, Secure Communications Systems, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, Systems Integration, IIoT, and/or production manufacturing operations  
  • Digital Manufacturing experience 
  • Experience in hardware/software integration of manufacturing systems  
  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates

Please note:

Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offer for candidate selected will be commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $118,900.00Salary Range 2: $92,600.00 - $146,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
