Position Description:

Implements Microservice principles architecture using Spring WS, Rest patterns, OAuth, Swagger, and Apache Camel. Crafts and develops Java, Spring, and RESTful APIs. Programs in Java and JavaScript based frameworks and client-side technologies. Performs coding with Java and Spring/Spring Boot framework, Application Programming Interface (API) Modeling languages, and annotations (Swagger). Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Core Java, Spring, and Web Services applications in financial services environment, using Angular and REST. 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing Core Java, Spring, and Web Services applications in financial services environment, using Angular and REST.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing microservice principles using Spring WS, Rest patterns, OAuth, Swagger, and Apache Camel in an architectural environment; and packaging applications and their dependencies using containerization and cloud deployment in an Azure Cloud environment.  

  • DE building abstract, reusable APIs (building libraries, interceptors, and Software Development Kit (SDK)), using API Modeling languages (REST) and annotations (Swagger); and organizing data using data structure concepts (Binary Tree, Binary Search Tree, and Graphs) and operations (Order Tree and Pre/Post Order Tree) within a Web application environment. 

  • DE developing Web application features using back-end technologies (Java, Spring, and RESTful APIs), front-end technologies (Angular and JavaScript), and databases (Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server) within a Java 8 and Spring/Spring Boot framework; and implementing server-side technologies (Java, J2EE, REST, SQL, JUnit, and Tomcat) and client-side technologies (HTML5, Angular Framework, JavaScript, CSS, and JSON), using Adaptable Web Design (AWD). 

  • DE deploying software applications in an Agile environment, using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, GIT, Maven, and JIRA in a DevOps environment.

Salary:  $129,375.00 – $141,000.00/year.
