Job Description

Position Summary

The Smart Process Commercial Engineer has and shows a diverse set of technical skills, and experience with Process/DCS system design—spanning Control (automation), Industrial Networks, and PlantPAx by applying multiple products and technologies into complete solutions. This role will work with our Marketing, Sales, and Engineering organizations to enable our customers' successful implementation of their systems using Rockwell Automation products. This role is a core enabler of the Smart Process strategic initiative in APAC, accelerating adoption of standard solution architectures and increasing PlantPAx and Industrial Networks attach across sub‑regions.

This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work with geographically and organizationally diverse teams, in addition to strong application engineering skills. The position will require travel up to 35%, to support overall business objectives such as trade shows, training, and customer visits.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain personal technical expertise and commercial knowledge of Rockwell Automation Smart Process products and industrial automation environments and applications
  • Serve as an Asia Pacific regional technical expert supporting SPR, SEA, India, Japan, Korea, and Greater China. to support marketing and sales organizations in pre-sales customer engagements including system architecture reviews, proof of concepts, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate with sub‑regional Software & Control teams, account teams, and cross‑BU stakeholders to align solution approach, pricing/packaging guardrails, and delivery readiness for Smart Process opportunities.
  • Prepare technical documentation, presentations, webinars, videos, and other tools to improve sales force and domain expert effectiveness in system-oriented topics
  • Support trade shows through the creation of presentations, demonstrations, and/orhand on labs.
  • Conduct customer demonstrations remotely and in Customer Solution and Experience Centers
  • Build data‑driven business cases and write commercial justifications for offer enhancements, analyse pipeline, win–loss, attach, and usage data to identify product/offer gaps and quantify impact.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including solid business/technical writing skills, and the ability to present topics to medium to large sized groups
  • Ability to Operate with a high degree of autonomy across time zones; triage ambiguous problems, propose options with trade‑offs, and drive timely decisions to keep opportunities moving.
  • Demonstrated ability to design efficient networking experience
  • Demonstrated DCS/Process application experience
  • Ability to drive self-paced learning

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience with PlantPAx, Integrated Architecture Builder, FactoryTalk Linx, Studio 5000 Design Software, FactoryTalk View SE, and Redundancy Systems.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation core products, including but not limited to PLCs, Motor Control, Operator Interface, Networking / Communication, Information Software, Safety and I/O.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience with overall control system design and/or supporting customer applications.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and/or virtualization software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Dev-ops workflows
  • Knowledge of Python, C# or other high-level language
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
  • Capable to lead projects and/or project teams
