Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a skilled Way4 Payment Platform Developer – Payment Workflows, System Integration & Security to support the design, customization, and ongoing support of payment processing solutions built on the Way4 platform. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and clients to develop reliable, secure, and scalable payment workflows aligned with business and technical requirements. Your expertise will enable the organization to deliver innovative payment solutions that enhance operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and improve customer satisfaction.


Software Requirements

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with Way4 Payment Platform (latest version or recent releases)

  • Programming skills in Java, SQL, and JavaScript

  • Experience working within Linux/Unix and Windows operating environments

  • Use of version control tools such as Git or equivalent


Preferred:

  • Experience with XML, JSON, and web service protocols (SOAP/REST APIs)

  • Knowledge of other payment systems or middleware solutions

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK stack or similar


Overall Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements related to payment workflows

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy payment solutions on the Way4 platform, including configuration and customizations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting payment transactions to ensure system reliability and security

  • Conduct code reviews, participate in design discussions, and maintain technical documentation for solutions

  • Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and platform updates in the payments space

  • Optimize existing processes and solutions for better performance and operational efficiency

  • Ensure all solutions adhere to security, compliance, and performance standards


Technical Skills (By Category)

Programming Languages (Essential):

  • Java, SQL


Preferred:

  • JavaScript, Python (for automation and scripting)


Databases / Data Management:

  • Experience in relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server

  • Ability to develop optimized SQL queries for transaction processing and reporting


Web & API Technologies:

  • XML, JSON, SOAP, REST APIs for interface development and integration


Platform & Environment:

  • Linux/Unix and Windows OS environments


Monitoring & Logging:

  • Familiarity with tools like ELK stack, Splunk, or similar


Development & Version Control:

  • Git or equivalent version control systems


Experience Requirements

  • At least 3+ years of software development experience in payment systems or financial technology platforms

  • Proven experience with Way4 payment platform, including configuration, customization, and troubleshooting

  • Experience supporting scalable, high-availability transaction environments

  • Knowledge of payment workflows, protocols, and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS) is a plus

  • Exposure to automation, scripting, and system monitoring tools


Day-to-Day Activities

  • Collaborate with clients and analysts to gather technical and business requirements

  • Configure, customize, and support Way4 payment workflows and modules as per client needs

  • Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution for payment transactions

  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline processes

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and project reviews

  • Review code, conduct unit testing, and document configurations and solutions

  • Monitor system performance, security, and compliance, and implement improvements

  • Stay updated on platform upgrades, new features, and industry best practices in payment processing


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Way4 or similar payment platforms

  • Strong understanding of payment processing workflows, security standards, and system integrations

  • Experience supporting production environments in financial services or payments industries

  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools is advantageous
