The Role

ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions is seeking an experienced Direct Sales Representative to strengthen our presence and market share in Japan. This role is responsible for managing the full sales cycle—from lead generation to order closing—by directly engaging with customers across the industrial and manufacturing sectors.

You will work closely with internal technical teams while building strong relationships with end customers, dealers, and trading companies.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of direct sales experience in industrial machinery or equipment
• Native-level Japanese communication skills and willingness to communicate in English
• Basic knowledge of machinery or industrial equipment sales
• Valid Japanese driver’s license
• Strong negotiation skills
• Logical and analytical thinking
• High mental resilience and self-motivation

Preferred:

• Experience selling industrial metrology products
• Experience in direct sales of software to major manufacturers
• Business-level English
• Strong teamwork skills

Employment Conditions

Contract Period: Indefinite

Probation Period: 3 months (extendable up to 6 months)

Work Locations (assignment possible to any):

• Tokyo: 2-10-9 Kojimachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo 102-0083
• Travel: Domestic travel 2-3 occasions per month

Working Hours: 9:00–17:30 with 60 minutes break time

Holidays & Leave: Approx. 125 days per year (weekends, public holidays), Year-end/New Year holidays (Dec 29 – Jan 4). Paid leave: 14–20 days in year one, 20 days in year two, 21–25 days thereafter

Overtime: May occur depending on business needs; compensated per law and company policy

Smoking Policy: No smoking on company premises

Salary & Benefits: Annual salary: ¥4,500,000 – ¥7,000,000+ (gross). Bonus: Paid in accordance with company policy. Commuting allowance provided
