Caterpillar currently has an opportunity for a Transaction Coordinator to join the Caterpillar Mining Finance – Asia Pacific team based in Melbourne.

About the role

Caterpillar Financial is Caterpillar’s wholly owned captive financier, head quartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Our mission is to help our customers, dealers and Caterpillar succeed through financial services solutions. Caterpillar Mining Finance is a global team within the Structured Finance business unit of Cat Financial and is responsible for facilitating the mining equipment financing requirements of Caterpillar’s Resource Industry customers through the use of structured equipment finance and corporate debt facilities. Customers include global mining houses, mining services providers and junior/startup mining companies.

The role of the Transaction Coordinator is to exercise decision-making authority to prepare, review, book, and fund financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and checking documents, such as corporate documents and signing authority documentation, to ensure legal enforceability.

  • Ensuring transactions are correctly documented and booked correctly into the system of record.

  • Supporting and coordinating workflow for the funding processes.

  • Generating regular and ad-hoc reports of the fund administration and distributing to dealers and vendors.

Key skills requirements for this role include;

  • Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviours.

  • Financial Instruments: Knowledge of the concepts, types and applications of financial instruments; ability to perform analyses, management and other related tasks associated with financial service business.

  • Order Processing - Financial Products: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques, and applications associated with order processing; ability to process financial products with high levels of accuracy

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent experience desired

  • Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role
