Reporting to the IT Manager SAP Administration and Security, the primary responsibility of the IT SAP ABAP Developer is to support the Bristow SAP Ecosystem and the successful integration of all Bristow global systems requiring SAP data. The position will focus on creating technology visions, delivering technology-enabled business outcomes such as improving business experiences, accelerating operational efficiency, delivering robust, scalable, and standardizing solutions in accordance with global business requirements and industry best practices.

The position holder will work closely with the IT Team and IT stakeholders, providing system support for the company’s business systems. The individual will also oversee the system development, planning, release management and integration of all IT SAP solutions, providing improved flexibility, control, and efficiency to the company.

The IT SAP ABAP Developer will also evaluate alternative solutions; implement standard technologies and processes and be responsible for continuously improving our IT solutions. The individual will plan, co-ordinate and work with external service providers to ensure the delivery of agreed service levels and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with IT teams and third-party service providers to design, develop and implement global systems and processes
  • Provide technical expertise and support to IT teams, Operations technical teams and IT stakeholders, in support of global standardization and system deployments
  • Update and research recommendations for product and system improvements
  • Lead the creation, review, and submittal of technical support documentation updates
  • Manage full project management life cycle and software development life cycle (SDLC) for the implementation of projects
  • Manage production releases while partnering with internal teams to ensure stakeholders are involved with testing, cutover, and hypercare activities
  • Manage the planning and development of company system integrations with company and third-party provider systems
  • Develop proposals, statements of work, business requirements documents and resource plans
  • Lead application user experience design activities
  • Drive process automation and replace manual operations to create efficiencies
  • Solve or recommend solutions for complex issues and problems
  • Collaborate with third party onsite and offshore IT resources on Software Development and Service Management activities including product backlog development; incident management; change management; and release management.
  • Ability to instruct and guide less senior software developers/analysts
  • Develop and deliver system and process training to user community through webinars, videos, knowledge base, and other employee engagement practices
  • Assist in the training of customers on system applications
  • Work directly with software vendor for prompt resolution of any problems or emergencies
  • Provide on-call application support for critical issues as needeD

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree and 8+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience
  • Experience leading, managing, and delivering projects in a technology/digital environment, managing both external clients/stakeholders and internal leaders and project teams
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technology requirements
  • Commitment to problem-solving and interfacing with colleagues and clients
  • Experience with API, HTML, Agile, and cloud systems
  • Very good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Comfortable with scripting and debugging when requested
