Solaris Biotechnology, a Donaldson brand under Life Science that Designs and Manufactures Bioprocessing equipment, including Bioreactors, Fermenters, and Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) systems for R&D and production purposes.

We engage in providing high-tech bioprocess solutions, our products are used in Universities, Research Centers, as well as in Biotech, Pharma, Food and Beverage, Nutraceutical, Cosmeceutical, Chemical, Agricultural industries, and, not to mention bioplastics and biofuels applications.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Equipment Or Product Development leader who is passionate about developing High Tech Lab and Industrial equipment.

The position will be based in Porto Mantovano.

Role Responsibilities:

• You will build and lead a team of Engineers and Designers , focused on developing tailored benchtop, pilot and industrial-scale Fermenters, Bioreactors and filtration systems.
• You will direct and coordinate the engineering work to ensure that the equipment design is delivered and validated per customer specifications within the planned budget and timelines.
• You will foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
• You will lead standardization efforts to minimize cost, inventory and lead times to build complex equipment.
• You will implement product & project development methodologies, tools and design capabilities in line with industry norms (CE/UL / FDA/...) and best practices. 
• You will streamline and standardize the 2D and 3D design activities including hygienic design principles , meeting the highest quality standards of food & beverage and pharmaceutical markets.
• You will also assure compliance with all applicable quality, safety and regulatory standards (FDA, BSI, GMP, Machine Directive PED, …)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Engineering degree (B.S/ M.S.) in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years of experience in machine/equipment design & development preferably in the process industry
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Excellent knowledge of CAD software (parametric modeling)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Fluent in English and Italian

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid knowledge of applicable regulatory and quality Standards (CE/ UL/ GMP, FDA, …).
• Experience in CAE Software for strenght and flow simulations.  
• Know-how in development of bioreactors & fermentors or food & beverage processing equipment and clean piping standards.
• Extensive experience leading cross functional, global product development teams through stage gate product realization process
