About the team and the role:

Join the Knowledge Graph (KG) team at eBay, where you'll be at the forefront of driving eBay's core business forward across diverse application domains including search retrieval, recommendation systems, and selling optimization. As part of our team, you'll collaborate with a talented group of experts in applied research, data analytics, and software engineering. At eBay, our team uses extensive seller and buyer data to extract valuable domain knowledge. By applying sophisticated technologies like Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLM), and Knowledge Graphs, we develop and deploy solutions to improve eBay's search capabilities. What you will accomplish:

  • Develop scalable data pipelines using Big Data technologies to acquire, analyze, and transform extensive datasets for e-commerce Knowledge Graph construction.

  • Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and multi-functional teams, and own the development of search retrieval and recommendation applications.

  • Design and implement high-performance services, integrating with underlying data infrastructures including graph databases, embedding and key-word search indexes.

  • Evaluate and supervise the performance of services and applications, conceiving and implementing continuous improvements.

What you will bring:

  • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms. Proficient programming skills in Java and Python.

  • Experience with large datasets and related technologies, including SQL, Hadoop, and Spark.

  • Experience in knowledge graphs, machine learning, and NLP is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and an appreciation for diversity in teamwork.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
