HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures, and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
In this role, you will get the opportunity to lead R&D projects focusing on development of converter solutions for HVDC technology. You will have the responsibility to coordinate global project teams and collaborate with other stakeholders such as product managers, resource owners and technical experts for execution of the R&D project.
On personal side we are looking for a person with positive mindset, analytical capabilities, and a strong drive for collaboration with development teams and stakeholders to build the best possible products.
Your responsibilities:
You will lead R&D project of High-power converter development and play a critical role to ensure the successful execution of the R&D project with following responsibilities.
You will set-up and execute R&D project together with project team in alignment with our R&D portfolio management and cross-functional stakeholders.
You will develop detailed time plan, schedules, project estimates and resource plan, drive the implementation of the project backlog in a transparent and efficient way and ensure quality and timeliness of releases.
You will conduct risk analysis and drive implementation of mitigation measures.
You will collect and clarify requirements and drive prioritization with multiple stakeholders.
You will collaborate with other development teams, Manufactures, testing facilities, Stakeholders, Product Owners, Line management during project execution.
You will be a part of R&D Project Management Office where you the possibility to support the R&D organization in continuously improving the processes and ways of working towards increasingly lean and agile methods.

Your background:
You hold a university degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering or similar.
More than 3 years of project management experience in leading product development projects related to power converters, high voltage electrical equipment.
Drive the implementation of the backlog in a transparent and efficient way and ensure quality and timeliness of releases.
Responsible of scope definition, budget estimation and planning of the different R&D projects.
Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams in multi-site global environment.
