The Role:

Join our team as a Analyst, Business Analytics to turn data into actionable insights that support strategic decisions across Medcan’s product management and core business functions, including marketing and sales. This role plays a key part in driving innovation and improving client outcomes through data-driven strategies.
 

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, commercially minded analyst with strong technical skills and a passion for uncovering insights. In this role, you’ll develop a deep understanding of the client lifecycle and use data to inform strategies that enhance growth, retention, and client value.
 

This position requires a blend of analytical rigor, technical proficiency, and clear communication. You’ll work hands-on with data using tools like SQL, Python, and Power BI, and present insights in a way that influences stakeholders. A strong understanding of client behavior and decision-making will enable you to help design strategies that drive engagement, loyalty, and long-term value.

What You'll Do:
 

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for clinical, operational, and business metrics.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses for marketing campaigns, sales performance, financial forecasting, and utilization optimization.

Advanced Modeling & Segmentation

  • Develop predictive models, segmentation strategies, and dashboards using tools like SQL, Python, and Power BI.
  • Support personalization, CRM, loyalty, and acquisition strategies through data-driven modeling.

 Product & Pricing Strategy

  • Analyze how clients engage with and consume products and services across the lifecycle to uncover usage patterns, unmet needs, and opportunities for innovation.
  • Partner with Product Management to inform roadmap decisions, feature prioritization, and experience design based on client behavior and value drivers.
  • Provide analytical support for pricing and packaging strategies, including elasticity modeling and revenue optimization.

Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, client behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform positioning and strategic planning.
  • Storytelling & Influence
  • Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, influencing decisions across all levels of the organization.

AI & Automation Exploration

  • Research and prototype AI-driven solutions, including Copilot Agents Framework and automation tools.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI into reporting and decision-making processes.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Monitor data quality and proactively address upstream issues, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., PHIPA).
  • Support metadata management and promote data literacy across teams.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive automation initiatives for reporting and alerting.
  • Stay current on best practices for visualization, analytics methodologies, and AI trends.

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence
  • Proficiency in Power BI and SQL; experience with Python or R preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate insights effectively
  • Familiarity with healthcare analytics and regulatory compliance
  • Familiarity with marketing attribution models, sales funnel analysis, financial forecasting, and product performance metrics
  • Familiarity with AI frameworks and automation tools
  • Exposure to cloud analytics environments (Azure preferred)

This is a full-time (1-Year contract) position (2 days in office) working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday – Friday (9 AM - 5.30 PM). Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station! 

Position Pay Range

$73,699.00 - $101,335.00 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives. ​
