Position Title: Hospital Scientist (Haematology and Transfusion Medicine)
Employment Type: Maximum Term Full-Time (Until the end of Jan 2025)
Hours per week: 38 hours
Position Grade: Hospital Scientist (Year 1 - 8)
Salary: $70,956.89 -101,208.98 base salary per annum
Enterprise Agreement:The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisation’ Hospital Scientists Agreement 2020

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Hospital Scientist in the Transfusion and Haematology laboratories at St Vincents Hospital, Sydney. The successful applicant will participate in a 24/7 rotating roster performing automated and manual haematology/ coagulation and routine pre-transfusion testing using manual and automated methods.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Hospital Scientist who possesses a passion for person centered care. We welcome applications from candidates with recent laboratory scientist experience in Haematology and Transfusion Medicine.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2.Batchelor degree or higher in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with subjects relevant to haematology and immunology from a recognised tertiary institution.

3.Recent experience in Haematology, Haemostasis or Transfusion Medicine. .

4.Previous experience with laboratory IT systems.

5. Previous IT experience.

6.Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.

7.Effective written and oral communication skills.

8.Able to participate in a 24/7 rotational roster.
