Job Summary:

This job initiates accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP and monitor the closing process, posting journal entries for necessary adjustments. You’ll meet statutory requirements for regulatory reports, external audits, and may participate in the preparation of financial statements. Additionally, you’ll support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations, prepare annual reconciliations between local GAAP and IFRS, and drive process control rigor to support quarterly financial certifications.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Initiate accounting processes to ensure financial statements meet local GAAP
• Monitor the accounting closing process and post journal entries for any required adjustments in the local ledger
• Support the organization in meeting local and global regulatory obligations
• Drive process control rigor to support quarterly certification on financials
• Implement monthly financial reports and analytics to support structured risk-based monthly financial reviews
• Implement statutory financial statements and ensure timely completion of statutory audits
• Facilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close activities
• Review and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and month-end reporting packages

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Your Day-to-Day

• Prepare account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and financial reporting standards.
• Ensure comprehensive open item narratives, variance analysis & escalation
• Partner with all dependent teams upstream like procurement, IT & vendors to ensure escalatables reduction
• Establish MIS reporting to provide visibility to leadership of open account balances and clear plan of action
• Ensure proper reporting under U.S. GAAP, including application of internal policies and SOX controls.
• Lead all audits for Accounts payable and collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing documentation and insights as needed
• Tax reporting as per US Tax regulations, reporting & benchmarking.
• Support special projects or system implementation initiatives within PayPal

What You’ll Bring

• 12+ years of experience, with 6+ years in Accounts Payable & account reconciliations
• Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduation in Accounting, Business or Finance.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable principles & high attention to detail
• Expertise in account reconciliations, AP Operations, compliance & analytics
• Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and enhance controls.
• Strong understanding of Controls & compliance: U.S. Tax, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage large data sets with speed and accuracy.
• Strong communication, Conflict management, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills across regions and time zones.
