Summary: As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of applications and providing support to end-users. Roles & Responsibilities: • Monitor batch jobs. Report/resolve issues and batch scheduling changes in CA-ESP tool • Perform basic CA ESP operational tasks. (RERUN, HOLD, SET TO OK, FREE, BYPASS) • Monitor batch & console alerts. Report using escalation matrix • Apply SOP’s to troubleshoot issues. • Perform IPL/HMC operations and system maintenances. • Handle system breakdowns - Emergency IPL, Dumps • Identify & report risks to SLAs and engage stakeholders • Monitor System performance, software, disk/tape utilization Professional & Technical Skills: • Expertise with batch scheduling tools - particularly in CA-ESP tool. Good to have experience with other scheduling tools like TWS/OPC, CA-7, or Control-M • Experience to work with Spool management tools, system monitoring and automation tools • Expertise & knowledge to perform IPL and knowledge of HMC operations • Experienced to support Production/LIVE environment in 24x7 support model • Determination and Persistence • Ability to Work in Harmony with Co-Workers • Willingness to improvise knowledge and add to skills Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 0-2 years of experience in IBM z/OS. - This position is based at our Bengaluru office. - A 15 years full time education is required.
