Surety Claim Counsel provides legal advice and support for the Surety underwriting team on a broad range of Surety specific documents and legal issues and manages all aspects of claims and recoveries related to Surety Bonds issued by Partner Carrier(s).
  • Provide legal counsel to the Surety Team regarding bond forms, indemnity documents, contracts, applicable laws impacting the Surety industry, litigation, and any other issues affecting Surety operations.
  • Investigate, reserve, and resolve claims and any related litigation within authority limits and in accordance with applicable law and Amynta/Carrier policies. Enforce Amynta/Carrier rights to indemnity and/or recovery from third parties, retaining and managing outside legal counsel and consultants as necessary.   
  • Coordinates and collaborates with Partner Carrier Claim Leaders pursuant to the administrative requirements outlined in the Claims Administration Agreement(s).
  • Prepares Monthly/Quarterly Claim Update Reports for Internal and External Leaders.
  • Coordinate and manage external legal and claims consultants.
  • Assists with development of appropriate compliance and internal procedures protocols. 
  • Provide tactical and strategic underwriting support including security agreements, contract review/drafting and Watch List Account Action Plans Default Work-Outs and Claim Mitigation Strategies.
