Position Description:

Implements features for Customer and Account Management Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in Spring Boot hosted on Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS). Works with Cloud services and Amazon Web Services (AWS), Datadog, and Splunk to host and monitor endpoints. Implements Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, using Jenkins and Terraform pipelines for code updates. Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation, using Automated test frameworks (Cucumber). Designs Cloud applications according to business requirements, architecture standards, and Agile methodologies. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in Agile/Scrum events (sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog refinement).
  • Crafts secure, scalable, and resilient Cloud-based services.
  • Collaborates with business, operations, and systems partners to deliver modernized technology solutions, addressing the complex needs of the company’s customers.
  • Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects.
  • Proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing optimized software systems and applications, using Java and JavaScript to enable Brokerage Operations.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) developing and designing optimized software systems and applications, using Java and JavaScript to enable Brokerage Operations.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing Cloud platforms in AWS to support Brokerage platform processing; developing Jenkins pipeline automation, using Terraform and AWS services – Storage (S3 buckets), Native Databases (RDS and DynamoDB), API Gateways, Compute Services (EC2 and EKS), serverless functions (Lambda and Step Functions) and AI based services.  
  • DE developing and deploying highly available, scalable, and secure applications in Java and JavaScript; and participating in every stage of the software development processing – planning, gathering requirements, development, testing, quality assurance, deployment, and production support – by applying Agile methodologies (Scrum and Extreme programming) and Agile Project Management for diverse requirements.
  • DE implementing observability tools – Splunk, Datadog, or Prometheus – to monitor, maintain, and report on system performance, service level indicators, and metrics. 
  • DE developing CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment, using Terraform, Git, Jenkins, Artifactory, and automation status result dashboards.
