JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Sells the company's medical device products by interacting with established customers (physicians, medical labs, hospitals). Responsible for the achievement of the sales and profit objectives of a specified territory or product. Promotes and establishes physician and account education of the company's products and/or services. Has no or limited experience in the cardiovascular industry. Has significant technical medical knowledge. Works under close supervision; no people management.
CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Achieve territory total product sales targets and associated individual product targets. Carry out sales calls, targeting high sales areas for maximum efficiency, and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients. Monitor market trends and competitor activity in assigned territory.
Complete and submit timely administration tasks such as customer record keeping, rolling forecasts, monthly highlights, expenses, etc. in line with divisional standards. Manage samples, demo devices, promotional expense as per individual plan spreadsheet to ensure expenses are within budget.
Maintain close relationships with key accounts and ensure their requirements are being met by the Company's products where possible. Represent Abbott in a professional manner that aligns with Company image, ensuring that activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
Supports the individual's direct supervisor to achieve the company's visions and objectives as well as divisional mission and strategies
May be assigned ad hoc project as required by the business
MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED
Relevant product knowledge
Capable computer skills for Abbott field reporting data system, necessary correspondence and spreadsheets.
Ability to put together a territory business plan. Numerical ability
Teamwork / Collaboration, Adaptability
Customer Focus
Planning and Organising
Excellent spoken and written proficiency in the local language, basic English reading skills
KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION REQUIRED
Degree or equivalent
Preferably prior learning with professional selling skills
