Job Summary

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join us in EMEA. In this role, you will manage a team of highly technical engineers who are responsible for the development, testing and support of Red Hat’s Trusted Profile Analyzer product. 

Red Hat Trusted Profile Analyzer (RHTPA) is a part of Red Hat's Secure Supply Chain portfolio of Products that includes Trusted Artifact Signer (RHTAS), Trusted Application Pipeline (RHTAP) and Dependency Analytics (DA).

We will need you to have experience managing teams in a technological, dynamic environment, combined with a passion for open source projects, process improvement, and providing an excellent customer experience.

What you will do

  • Manage a globally distributed team of Software Engineers and Software Quality Engineers,dedicated to the development, testing and support of RHTPA. 

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of technical teams, consisting of junior to senior technical engineers. 

  • Help shape our testing strategy and drive increasing levels of test automation and automated test coverage. 

  • Contribute to our efforts to energize and build a community around the upstream projects. Receive assignments in the form of objectives and define how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. 

  • Provide leadership in problem solving, including proposing and discussing fixes, advising and educating customers. 

  • Provide guidance to associates within the established company policies; recommend changes to policies and procedures. 

  • Work with our support organization who manage customer escalations with highly technical support requests from enterprise customers. 

What you will bring

  • Previous experience as a technical people manager, in a technology-oriented company or department. 

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills. 

  • A proven ability to learn and apply new skills and processes quickly, and coach and teach others. 

  • Ability to identify potential, develop people, and motivate and build a team. 

  • Solid leadership and coaching skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent working experience. 

The following are considered a plus: 

  • Experience working in a Linux environment, GitHub with at least one language like Java, Javascript, Golang or Rust. 

  • Knowledge of support systems and tools. 

  • Experience of managing a team of Software Quality Engineers. Appreciation and passion for open source software. 

  • Experience with a container ecosystem like Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift. 

  • Experience with microservices architectures and concepts including scale, APIs, versioning, monitoring, etc. 

  • Knowledge of Software Bill of Materials (SBOMs), vulnerability management and the secure apply chain domain in general. 

  • Increasingly RHTPA will be leveraging AI to provide the richest and most intuitive customer experience possible, so knowledge of AI applications is beneficial.
