Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Bangalore
Business & Team: PSU IT
Impact & contribution
- Collaborate with Business Banking stakeholders to develop & store payments data on cloud and help the squads in building the targeted applications-based cloud based microservices.
- Bringing the best design and development solutions to some of the complex problems in the data services crew and doing POC with latest tech stack and helping the squads to build the solutions with latest tech stack.
- Ingest, store and publish payments data* (incl. new data/maintenance/fixes/changes)
- Work with Channels and internal customers to make value-add payments data* available.
- Handle NPP/High Value RTGS along with International Payments.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Design and architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems.
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical goals with business objectives.
- Solve complex technical problems and implement innovative solutions.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s technical strategy.
- Advocate for best practices in software development and continuous improvement
Essential Skills
- Risk Mindset –All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
- Essential:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in design and development of Software applications. Demonstrate strong knowledge of the platform and its design.
- Must have 3+ years of proven record of development of reporting applications using Abinitio
- Hands-on with the Ab Initio development products - GDE, Express IT, Co-Op System, EME, M-HUB, Control Centre, BRE.
- Hands-on development experience with various Ab Initio components such as Rollup, Scan, Reformat, join, Partition by key, Gather, Merge, Interleave, Lookup, etc.
- Understanding of PDL and Metaprogramming constructs using AbInitio components
- Should have strong technical experience in Development (Coding, Unit testing) using Ab Initio.
- Expertise in Unix shell scripting.
- Expertise in SQL database programming, SQL performance tuning, relational model analysis.
- Expertise in Performance tuning and code optimization using various techniques in Abinitio and SQL
- Exposer to CICD tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of Hadoop hdfs files and layouts work.
- Ability to learn new topics, open to explore things that are not part of the JD.
Qualifications
- Graduate (Preferably Btech/Mtech/MCA)
