Trouw Nutrition is hiring… we’re adding a Mill Maintenance Technician to our team in St.Marys facility in ON. We are looking for a team player who can do maintenance work on equipment in the mill. About The Role: Maintain and repair the tools that help feed the world!

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant preventative maintenance plan;
  • Daily maintenance on equipment as it relates to process and packaging as well as other support equipment throughout the feed manufacturing facility;
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required and ability to perform maintenance tasks;
  • Must demonstrate a strong attitude to working in a safe manner, to follow strict safety procedures as well ensure that co-workers are following safety policies during maintenance procedures;
  • Be willing to work at various heights;
  • Must work within established HACCP procedures;
  • Must be willing to work with production staff, interact with supervisors and work well with outside contractors, service technicians and engineers.

Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Must have strong mechanical background;
  • Familiarity with processing equipment and packaging equipment in a feed manufacturing facility an asset;
  • Licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification preferred but not required.  
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, and have strong organizational skills;
  • Able to be on call and possible overtime as required, particularly during the maintenance off shift hours and on weekends;
  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety requirements and ability to follow safety policies and procedures;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Expectation from the Role:

  • Full-time, Permanent; Overtime as required.
  • Day shifts with on-call expectations occur once every six weeks for a week. On-call basis including stats, weekends, evenings.
  • Physical Requirements:  Ability to regularly bend and twist, open and close lids, climb ladders and work at heights, and lift 25 kgs.
  • Physical Work Conditions: Often exposed to loud sounds, distracting noise levels, and dusty environment.
