As the Manager of Digital Merchandising you will be responsible for leading the strategy for the customer site experience and managing a small team of Digital Merchandisers.  This position is responsible for leading & implementing the digital merchandise strategies for our North America eCommerce channel. You will be responsible for ensuring user flows support the best experience from go-to-market campaigns, the product must marketing and messaging, as well as outbound communication through our retention and paid channels. You will translate the financial investment in our product line to a comprehensive merchandising strategy in partnership with the core merchandising team and digital team. You will recommend in season & real time actions to drive sales. The Manager of Digital Merchandising will execute the product team’s vision within our digital platforms, partnering with UX, UI and the Web Production teams. You will create an exceptional customer shopping experience online and strive to evolve the shopping experience in a way that lives up to Patagonia’s mission of saving the home planet. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with the merchandising, creative and web development teams to deliver the best customer experience online.
  • Influence site landing page to measure, test and adjust Homepage strategies to support CTA for our vast storytelling and product features on site, driving cohesive storytelling, intuitive click stream, funnel depth, conversion.
  • Influence Go-to-Market campaigns experiences on site as it relates to product discovery and customer journey from emails and paid media channels.
  • Define a best-in-class process for new product delivery and go to market new product launches.
  • Oversee product photography strategy with Creative team.
  • Propose in-season updates to merchandising and retention marketing plans that reflect inventory positions and product mix.
  • Proof product pages before going live including a review of the photo assets and product copy and request corrections as needed.
  • Assort products into the site taxonomy, to optimize for conversion, page views & add to cart.
  • Generate reports and present findings to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and opportunities for optimization.
  • Manage product recommendation rules to drive intelligent up-selling & cross-selling. A/B test, measure and optimize on a regular basis. Look for areas to expand program.
  • Maintain and update site taxonomy based on seasonal collections and new product categories. Determine appropriate refinements to include on product listing pages.
  • Contribute to our email planning process by ensuring email cadence and messaging reflects our financial investment.
  • Merchandise for emails and paid media in support of our go-to-market efforts by providing product assortments, proposed landing pages and inventory reviews.
  • Update evergreen collections and search suggestions monthly to reflect sales trends and inventory.
  • Monitor customer product reviews for any risk or opportunities.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to your team.

Experience You Bring:

  • Seven years of experience in ecommerce merchandising, buying, or site experience. Including at least 2 years, as a direct manager/supervisor of others.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud required.
  • Have led a small team to make big impacts, with limited and constrained resources.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Creative thinking with the ability to conceptualize and implement ideas that will support brand initiatives and achieve sales goals.
  • Flexible and quick learner able to adapt to a constantly changing digital environment.
  • Strong computer skills; intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, ESP, search platform, A/B testing & site personalization.
  • BA or BS in a Merchandising, Business or other related fields (or equivalent additional work experience).

Hiring Range: $115,000 to $135,000

Pay Range: $99,680 to $159,520

At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
